You will today notice another new feature on this site. This is a page, Crime Reports, which contains the very latest information about incidents attended to by the police in the local area.
While serious crime is not a major issue in Chislehurst, incidents such as theft, vehicle crime and anti-social are a concern for local people.
The information in Crime Reports is supplied by the Chislehurst Safer Neighbourhood Team, led by Sergeant Richard White. The team is based at the top of the High Street behind the HSBC bank.
The page, which will be updated regularly, provides readers with details of incidents attended to by the Chislehurst police. So if you noticed blue lights in your area then you will be able to look it up to discover what had happened. The page also allows the police to call for witnesses and information in ongoing investigations.
The idea is that the Crime Reports will help to build stronger links between the Chislehurst community and the police and ultimately reduce crime. A grand ambition perhaps, but worth a go.
Genuinely impressed with this. It is a really useful resource. I am so glad the police are engaging with local websites like this.
